Sevenoaks Chronicle, 18th June 1977
Knockers beaten in tense finish
Chelsfield Park defeated the Knockers by one run off the last ball of Sunday's exciting encounter - the Park scoring 178-8 declared and then dismissing their opponents for 177.
Batting first, the Park were indebted to a steady innings from Gray (40) and an excellent 60 from Prodger who provided a much-needed boost. For the Knockers Sims and Golds took four wickets apiece.
Hornsby (J) gave the Sevenoaks side a good start but the visitors became bogged down in the middle-order. Sims got the score moving again and raced to a splendid half-century.
But on his dismissal Chelsfield Park regained the initiative and in a tense finish, fine bowling by Prodger and Perkins brought them the narrowest of wins.
