Tunbridge Wells Borderers
165-10
Knockers
166-9
Sevenoaks Chronicle, 9th July 1977
The Knockers won a thrilling match against Tunbridge Wells Borderers by one wicket with just four balls to spare.
Some indifferent bowling let the Borderers off to a fine start and it needed a good spell from left-armer Woodman (5-31 including three wickets in his first over) to peg them to 165 all out. Wicket-keeper Miller claimed four catches and two stumpings.
After losing a quick wicket, Smith (51) and Miller took the Knockers to 94. But from there they slipped badly and it was left to captain Martin to strike the winning run.
