In a remarkably high-scoring match Staplehurst beat the Knockers by six wickets. On a 'plum' wicket Knockers raced to 245-6 declared - J. Hornsby (64), Woodman (45) and Sims (88 not out) batting well. But the total wasn't quite enough as Staplehurst, taking advantage of some friendly bowling and fielding, reached their target with two overs to spare. In the last hour the hosts scored 130 runs.
