Chelsfield Park
165-7
Knockers
135-6
Sevenoaks Chronicle, 5th May 1979
Knockers fielded first in their match at Chelsfield Park and were encouraged by two quick strikes, but Vine first and second team captains Gray and Housden blunted the Knockers hopes with a third-wicket stand of 119.
Gray was eventually caught for 64 while Housden fell three shout of a half-century. The Park eventually declared at 165-7 with Woodman picking up three cheap wickets for the Knockers.
Woodman then turned his attention to the willow and gave his side a splendid start with a quickfire 37. Unfortunately on a slow, wet wicket the Knockers' challenge faded and only a defiant 29 from Bramwell enabled them to reach a respectable 135-6 - Walker taking 3-46.
