Knockers
179-3
Tonbridge
77-10
Sevenoaks Chronicle, 11th August 1979
Batting first against Tonbridge on Sunday, Knockers lost two early wickets. But a 152 run partnership between Sagar and Tony Martin paved the way for a declaration and 179 for 3.
There was plenty of powerful hitting in Sagar's career best 89 and Martin finished with a polished 67 not out.
The visitors, who were previously unbeaten on Sundays this season, replied in a disappointing and, at times, farcical manner. Two runs outs and a hit wicket were included in their collapse to 77 all out.
Mike Martin (3-38) accounted for the early batting. Shrewd bowling changes then resulted in two cheap wickets each for Bramwell and Miller.
