Knockers
139-10
Four Elms
110-9
Sevenoaks Chronicle, 9th June 1979
Knockers entertained Four Elms at Greatness Park on Sunday in a hastily re-arranged fixture. (Was supposed to be away to Wye)
The Knockers lost the toss and were asked to bat first on an under-prepared wicket and with exception of Woodman (35) the early batsmen failed to cope.
It was thanks to Bramwell (52) that the Sevenoaks side was able to reach 139 all-out - D Smith taking 3-28 and D Stephen 3-4.
Larby's 33 helped the Elms into a useful position and at 89-3 the the visitors looked favourites for victory.
However, steady bowling from Mike Martin (5-31) and a teasing spell of leg-spin from skipper P. Smith (2-9) brought about a collapse and at stumps the visitors were 110-9.
