Canterbury Pilgrims
183-7
Knockers
162-9
Sevenoaks Chronicle, 7th June 1980
Knockers were held to a draw when they played against Canterbury Pilgrims.
The Pilgrims batted first and got off to a shaky start when their first wickets fell with only three runs on the scoreboard. But the batsmen pulled themselves together and scored 95 before the loss of their next wicket.
With 125 on the board three wickets fell for the addition of one run and Knockers managed to tie the Pilgrims down to 183 before the teatime declaration.
Knockers made a good start to their innings with Mike Woodman and Keith Miller making 70 before Miller was caught for 30. Woodman went five runs later leaving the batting to Botting and Bick.
Bick Knocked up 50 runs in 55 minutes while other batsmen struggled on a slow, rain affected pitch.
The middle order batsmen fell cheaply while chasing the runs and Bick was out at 53 after a mix up putting the target of 184 out of reach.
