Match Report

Knockers completed a hat trick of tour wins with victory at Porchfield's ginormous ground. Hector opened with Rory and picked up his maiden Knockers’ fifty and we needed some late fireworks from Ben to get to a defendable total before everyone chipped in with the ball.

The huge ground posed little problem for our intrepid openers - Hector was all blocks and smashes to cow, Rory quickly moved on from charging blocks to a few strokes of his own before falling for five. Jonah wrapped up his fine tour with nine before Scott skulked out. The run rate slowed to heckling point until three boundaries in one over livened matters up. Scott was bowled for fifteen as Knockers where creeping along at 77 from 14 overs.

Lawrence had licence to hit but was well caught at mid-on. Ben then carried on in the pursuit of quick runs as Hector hit his half-century before getting stumped by a very good wicket keeper in D. Pratt. Kuts then slog-swept as Ben rounded matters off with a bombastic 20 from the last over - a real shot in the arm to a limping score as we finished on 142-5.

Porchfield began the chase well, their veteran keeper now batting just as well. Kuts bowled the quieter partner in his solid spell - worth remembering he's on his way back from a knee operation. Ziggy was having day three blues at the other end but still getting it to grip when they landed.

Ted bowled a tight over and then took himself off and Calver then sent down three very nice overs while Tells toiled at the other end. Porchfield weren't getting away but had plenty of wickets in hand should they try an assault.

It took possibly the champagne moment of the tour to dislodge Pratt. Rory fired in and a lofted drive to mid-off saw Tom dive backwards and take the ball over his head - Hector's photo capturing the wonderful moment. Scott picked up two in his first over, an LBW (excessive appeal/celebration later earning him a fine) and a hit wicket. Ollie and Lawrence then wrapped things up with the run-rate drifting beyond reason and a great conclusion to a fab tour.
