Vine player Tony Martin hit his second century of the season, playing for Knockers against Cranbrook on Sunday. He and Cowan (54) came to the rescue after Knockers had been struggling at 15 for 4. They slaughtered the Cranbrook bowling for 143 in 83 minutes and Martin finished on 100 not out when the declaration came at 207 for 6.
Cranbrook never got to terms with the scoring rate and with half an hour to play they were 100 for 5.
Then Ian and Keith Miller took two quick wickets each and the visitors had to really struggle. They finished on 141 for 9 to earn a fortunate draw.
