Knockers recorded a disappointing losing draw on a very wet Linton Park pitch which made for difficult batting. Captain Andy Darry won the toss and had little hesitation in inserting the opposition, however Knockers struggled to make early inroads. First change bowler Paul Seldon struck first, followed by Andy Darry but despite a slow run rate Linton Park progressed to a solid looking 114-2. "Golden arm" Andrew Marshall then struck followed by two quick wickets for Lynden Spencer-Allen, and Linton Park were reduced to 137-7. A partnership of 28 between Cheeseman and Christmas took Linton Park through to declaration at 165-7.
Knockers reply started promisingly with Paul and Stuart Seldon opening the batting until P Seldon was unfortunately run out by a direct hit from the boundary. Charlie Irwin quickly asserted himself at the crease but was caught in the covers for 11 attempting to hit over the top. Lynden Spencer-Allen and Stuart Seldon then built a very solid partnership of 41 and Knockers looked well placed at 77-3 at the start of the 20 overs. However Spencer-Allen was stumped off the bowling of Harris and Seldon followed next ball after a freak dismissal caught off the back of the bat. From there Knockers struggled and it was left to the last pair of Cowan and Darry to again bat out the final 10 overs to secure the losing draw.
