Match Report

An well paced innings of 60no from Paul Seldon was the highlight of Knockers win against Holmesdale on Sunday. Knockers lost the toss on a wet wicket and surprisingly were asked to field. This proved a poor decision though as openers Paul Seldon and Lynden Spencer-Allen tore into the Holmesdale top order. Left arm leg spinner Will Goulstone took 3-30 while Corin Spencer-Allen came into the attack to clean up the tail for figures of 4-12. Holmesdale finished 120 all out with only A Beecroft (42) providing any real resistance.

Knockers opened once again with Stuart Seldon and Paul Styles but both were removed quickly by Holmesdale’s opening pair of Mark Epps (2-15) and Max Melbourne (3-27). Knockers then slumped to 29-4. The in form Guthrie Miller (11) and Paul Seldon set about rebuilding but on Miller’s dismissal Knockers were in deep trouble at 45-5. However Will Goulstone came to the crease and showed application for his 20no, and with Seldon built another excellent sixth wicket partnership to take Knockers through to victory on 124-5.
