Match Report

Despite the bad weather, Knockers and Weald attempted to battle against the elements. A tight bowling performance by Knockers kept the pressure on Weald and were soon rewarded when Andrew Stringer was trapped LBW by Edward Irwin for 9. CSA could have had a wicket but Howe’s dive, however impressive, failed to result in a wicket. Howe’s continued attempts at spectacular pieces of fielding simply led to further embarrassment in front of the first lady he has ever brought to a game! Corin Spencer-Allen got his deserved reward shortly afterwards clean bowling D. Clive for 1. Weald continued to resist despite the adverse conditions and good pressure from the Knockers attack. Goozee succumbing near the end of proceedings caught by Guthrie Miller off the Bowling of Irwin. Paul Seldon and Miller were brought into the attack after the encouraging spells of Irwin (10-4-19-2) and Spencer-Allen (9-1-20-1) but the worsening conditions soon meant that play was abandoned with Weald 42-3.
