Match Report

This was another unfortunate defeat for Knockers on a fairly docile pitch and playing an opposition that once again featured the guile of Nigel Cannon. Stuart Seldon, Paul Styles, and Geoff Smith all contributed runs at the top of the order but it was once again captain Guthrie Miller who contributed the lions share with an innings of 71 that included 3 sixes. Grant Scandling impressed the crowd by hitting his first two balls for six but unfortunately tried a repeat performance a few balls later and was caught on the boundary. Ben Rumary was the star of the Knockers lower order, contributing 38 which is surely his highest Knockers score. However, the Knockers effort was once again blighted by wickets falling regularly despite the friendly conditions and they were eventually made to pay.

Dan Turner opened the bowling for Knockers with a lively spell and regularly had the batsmen hopping around the crease. However, he could not achieve the breakthrough and it was Steve Pollard, the oppo's star man, who once again batted through to see them home. An enjoyable game once again but a disappointing result.
