Match Report

Knockers were delighted to record their first win of the season on Sunday, beating Hurst Green in Sussex. Knockers were asked to field first and tight restrictive opening spells from Ben Rumary and Paul Seldon set the tone for a good performance in the field. Dan Turner bowled excellently at first change for 3-27 despite injury. Further wickets fell to Simon Slater (2-31) and Hugh Rumary (2-22). Edward Darry also bowled an excellent spell of 3-31, including dismissing former Kent II player J Baldock, who made 29. Green eventually finished 173 all out.

In reply, Knockers got off to a solid start once again due to Paul Styles (17) and Stuart Seldon (41) but it was man of the match Slater (90*) who really took the fight to Green in partnership with Seldon. Slater mixed hard hitting with sensible running and the victory was eventually secured on 174-3 with Slater hitting the winning runs.
