Knockers
235-4
Tonbridge Exiles
204-7
A century on debut for Ollie Jones was the highlight of Knockers' winning draw against Tonbridge on Sunday. The home team won the toss and Knockers were curiously asked to bat on a hot afternoon, on a hard wicket that offered variable bounce. After a quick start through Stuart Seldon (25), Knockers fell to 39-2. This brought Jones to the crease who built a large partnership with Paul Seldon (44). Some useful late hitting from Miller (18) and Boreham took Knockers to 235-4 and an early declaration.
In reply, Tonbridge found the pace of Ben Rumary and the spin of Edward Darry (3-58) difficult to combat but a good partnership between Rossiter (39) and Smiles (72) helped them towards the target. However a late flurry of wickets brought about by an excellent spell of quick bowling from Dan Turner (3-27) held Tonbridge back and a draw was recorded on 205-7.
