Knockers held out for a losing draw against Shipbourne after a disappointing all round performance. Invited to field first, the team toiled against some attacking batting despite an early wicket for Dan Turner (1-21). Edward Darry (3-60) bowled well again to make inroads through the middle order but N Lee Amies (108) held the Shipbourne innings together as they declared on 251-6.
Knockers were in trouble from the first over in their reply and lost wickets regularly. Only Geoff Smith (45) mounted any early resistance with help from some hitting from Ben Rumary (14). It was left for last pair of Ken Cowan (8no) and Andy Darry to play out the final 13 overs to secure a draw on 143-9.
