Southborough
145-9
Knockers
146-6
Knockers win - Southborough 145/9 v Knockers 146/6. Knockers, after restricting Southborough to a relatively modest 145, chased down the total with a bit to spare despite determined resistance from the home side. The home side found progress difficult against tight bowling and were not helped by two disastrous run-outs. R Jackson made a quickfire 34 and Ken Cowans was the pick of the bowling with 3 for 35. Elegant batting by Tom Cobb (34) and a gritty partnership between Steve Cowdron (25) and Geoff Smith (38) took the visitors to within touching distance. Olly Jones and Joe Druce-Smith completed the victory. O Young took 2 for 19. Equally not to be missed was the cameo and sadly rare performance by Olly Boreham behind the sticks resulting in a interesting 'discussion' with a certain opening bowler over a catch that would have been his first wicket of the season - but there again it is only mid-June.
