Finally a game for the Knockers, as the Sun shone in Shoreham. Shoreham elected to bat first on a slow wicket and were soon under pressure as Lynden Spencer Allen (1-10) produced a fiery spell to remove the opener in the first over. Ben Cobb at the other end kept the runs down and also grabbing a wicket. Shoreham continued to struggle against the change bowling of Guthrie Miller (1-8) and Ken Cowan (1-23) who bowled with the usual guile and variation we have become accustomed to. The resistance was provided in the form of James Trick (52) and Ray Trick (34), but when the former was run out by his dad the innings subsided with Richard Botting (1-2) and the re-introduction of the "pacy" Ben Cobb (4-10) removing the tail.

In reply Knockers made swift progress with Tom Cobb (26) and Richard Botting taking the attack to the bowlers. Cobb fell in attempting to hit the ball out of the park and was snaffled at long-off. This bought Ben Cobb (19*) to the crease, who played very much a supporting role to the in-form Botting who continued to pulverise the bowling with a number of lusty blows, finishing the innings at 78*. The winning runs were bought up through a dubious no-ball decision with 18 overs to go, Knockers winning for the third time this season with a comprehensive 9 wicket victory.
