Knockers
185-4
Staplehurst
187-4
In their last match of the season, the Knockers slumped to a defeat against a strong Staplehurst side. Despite some vintage batting from Lynden Spencer-Allen, bringing back shades of the late 90’s (60 n/o), excellent support from Tom Cobb (47) and Guthrie Miller (44 n/o) the total of 185 always looked on the low side. Initially things looked good for the Knockers with some lively and mean bowling from Spencer-Allen and Ben Cobb. Crucially insufficient inroads were made into the Staplehurst top order. Then T Davy gorged himself on the Knockers attack, smashing a quick fire 112 n/o. Staplehurst cruised home for the loss of only three wickets. Ed Darry took 2/60.
