Knockers
218-2
Southborough
209-9
In a rollercoaster of a match, the Knockers posted a challenging 218 including a finely paced 150 plus opening partnership between Tom Cobb (92 n/o) and Stuart Seldon (83). The home side made, initially, a slow response but then impressively maintained a high run rate to get within striking distance with 8 wickets standing. The match then pivoted on a critical catch by Les Seldon in his long awaited comeback match. Subsequently, Southborough continued their charge but the wickets also tumbled. The pick of the bowlers were Edward Darry 3/53, Guthrie Miller 2/18 and Olly Jones 2/51 plus a rare hat trick of stumpings for keeper Stuart Seldon. In the end, the home team, losing 2 wickets in the last over, fell just short with the Knockers having the chance to win the match with the very last ball.
