KNOCKERS SILENCE JAZZERS
In a 40 overs a side match, the Knockers put in a fine team performance to silence the Jazzers. Stuart Seldon (80) and Tom Cobb (53) put on a fine 100+ partnership for the second wicket and Guthrie Miller (45 n/o) and Geoff Smith (23 n/o) made hay at the end to post a testing but achievable target.
The Jazzers made a good start through Barber (79) and J Day (30). However, the father and son spin attack of Andy Darry (2-44) and Ted Darry (4-42) gradually asserted control and slowed the Jazzers. They were expertly assisted by Ollie Boreham with three stumpings.
Jim Gethen (60) then led a late charge for an unlikely victory but eventually the pressure told on the home side who fell 20 short.
