Match Report

KNOCKERS WIN AGAIN

Knockers 200/3 beat Shoreham 137 a/o

Guthrie Miller does it again posting his second ton in three innings. Miller ripped into the Shoreham attack hitting a huge 125 n/o. Paul Styles scored 34. The Knockers bowling then made early inroads into the Shoreham top order with Lynden Spencer-Allen taking a fine 4-19. The tail-end showed a good deal of resilience but the wickets equally fell at regular intervals (Ken Cowans 2/17 and Ben Cobb 2/5). In the end the Knockers posted a third successive win with more than ten overs to go. Dan Turner made fine late contribution with his leg-breaks.
Man of the match – the skipper – handled the open inning attack well then heartily tucked into the buffet bowling.

Champagne moment(s) – Guy Howe monopolised these with the choices being Guthrie taking Guy out from 20 yards, the second was Guy’s travesty of an LBW decision – was Will bribed? And finally Guthrie’s fine attempt to launch one into Guy’s BMW

Most promising player of the week – Dan Turner. If he carries on bowling like that, he may be able to cling onto his place as fifth change spinner.

Missed opportunity of the week – Tom Cobb – need we say more
