Knockers lost on Sunday to Reigate Priory after a disasterous collapse.

Invited to bowl first, Knockers set about their task very well with excellent spells from Lynden Spencer-Allen (3-27), Ben Cobb (2-22) and Ted Darry (2-19). In addition it was wily in form veteran Ken Cowan (2-18) who distinguished himself once again with accurate bowling and two excellent wickets, before Priory made an attacking declaration.

In response, Knockers got off to a flying start with Seldon and Cobb striking the ball all around the park in the face of attacking fields. When Cobb (25) was eventually caught aiming another big hit, the fight was continued by Guthrie Miller (24) and the in form Paul Cook (28). Moving on to 186-3, Knockers appeared certain to chase down the total with 14 overs remaining.

However, there followed a disasterous collapse with Cook and Seldon (103) being removed in consecutive balls by the dangerous Chris Morgan (5-15). The remainder of Knockers wickets were surrendered tamely, with seven wickets falling for just nine runs to hand Priory the victory. Knockers will hope to put things right against Ightham this weekend.
