Match Report

Smarden are trounced

Steve Trounce bowled Knockers to victory over Smarden on Sunday with a career best of 6-35.

In just over ten overs of controlled low left-arm deliveries he helped reduce Smarden to 93 all out. His wickets included four clean bowled, one stumping and one LBW. He was assisted by Martin Bayliss who took the wicket of captain Randall and Mike Martin who accounted for top scorer Johnson (34).

Earlier Knockers, with many regular players missing, owed their impressive 207-3 dec to sound performances from their available batsmen. Richard Botting (59) and Keith Miller (48) were involved in a century opening partnership, and the good start was built upon with an unbeaten 55 from Peter Smith and 33 not out scored by Simon Branson.
