Five wicket defeat for Knockers
Although they scored over 100 runs, Knockers were well beaten when they entertained Aldersbrook at Knole Paddock on Sunday.
The home side, who batted first, opened well, but bowlers Dear and Bond had the side in trouble and only Dinnis, Miller and Andrews could carry on the good work. A fifth wicket partnership of 35 made sure of the 100, but the side collapsed and were dismissed for 105. Bond took 4-11 and Dear 4-26.
Aldersbrook started badly and lost their first four wickets for 16 runs. Bond and Nice (who was dropped before scoring) settled down. They revived the innings and played some attractive shots. A total of 52 was scored for the fifth wicket, of which Nice made 43. Skipper Howfield joined Bond, and Aldersbrook sailed home to a comfortable victory.
