Knockers Beat Vine Extra A
Thanks to an aggressive innings from Oldale, backed up accurate fast bowling by Enderby and Daniels, Knockers won an enjoyable game against Vine Extra A at Knockholt on Saturday by 18 runs.
After Dinnis had left at 15, Andrews, by careful cricket, helped Oldale to put on 70 for the next wicket and when the latter was bowled by Brockett for 50, scored in 55 minutes, including 20 off 5 balls, Cosker and Andrews took the score to 103 before the third wicket fell. A procession followed, the last wicket falling only five runs later.
The Vine required only 109 runs to win, but Daniels and Enderby soon had the first four batsmen back in the pavilion for only 20 runs. Although Carr and Roberts carried the score to 41 before being parted, eight wickets were down for 42. Young then joined Miller and these two added 31 runs in 20 minutes before Young was caught. With the last man in, Miller continued to bat with good judgement, but at 90 Chase bowled Norwood and the match was over.
