Wednesday went under
Facing a total of 120, Knockers beat Wednesday on the Vine by seven wickets.
On a fast pitch, Hammond and Kemp put on 47 in 30 minutes for the Wednesday's opening partnership, but on Kemp's dismissal Enderby found a spot and in a devastating spell shattered the middle batting. Only Coffey, with a hard hit 35 showed any resistance and Wednesday were all out before tea for 120, Enderby taking eight wickets for 41.
Against Wednesday's steady attack it was evident that it was a case of whether Hutton could be dismissed early, but he survived two hard chances and stayed to make a very fine 71 not out. The home bowlers made a great effort, however and bowled 17 overs more than the opposition.
