This match had everything!

On Wednesdat last week at Hollybush Lane the match between Sevenoaks Wednesday and Knockers provided eveything - a sensational start, a riot of runs, and a dramatic finish, with knockers emerging winners by one run.

Put into bat Knockers were soon in trouble, the first three batsmen going without scoring, including the free hitting Hutton, but there ended the Wdnesday bowler's success.

Russell Vick and Oldale set about restoring the situation, and did until a great throw from Kemp ran out Oldale did another wicket fall. Russell Vick went on to treat every bowler alike, and completed a fine century in quick time. Burden and Hogg hammered home the advantage to enable Knockers to declare at 238 for six.

Once again Wednesday were to be involved in a close finish. A good start by Hammond and Lang, followed by Trigg, kept them in the race for runs, and with the arrival of 'Doc' Coffey things began to race to a climax. Hitting the ball very hard, Coffey scored at a great pace. Four towering 'sixes' in one over brought the Wednesday within sight of victory, with McCanna playing a fine knock to hold the side together.

It was 'in the bag' with the last over to go, but in going for the winning runs, McCanna was left in the middle of the wicket, by a fine stop and return by Miller. So ended a great game.
