Century maker dominates
Knockers had to be satisfied with a draw on Sunday after a sparkling century from number four A. Martin had seemed to put them in a winning position.
This free-scoring innings, coming when early wickets had fallen cheaply to a concentrated Downshall attack, pulled Knockers together.
While K. NMiller and Corbett prodded up one end for a time Martin went sailing past the half-century mark and steered Knockers into an all-out total of 194. Fate did not allow the last wickets to fall until Martin had reached an unbeaten 101.
Knockers main trouble came from the fine bowling of Birch who picked up figures of 9-68.
Downshall made a promising start in their reply with openers Moon (30) and White (29) finding few problems with the Knockers attack. But once they had gone there was little further resistance and six wickets were down at the with 125 on the board.
