Knockers
98-10
Ightham
71-10
Sevenoaks Chronicle, 11th June 1971
A low-scoring game at Ightham on Sunday ended with the home side being beaten by Knockers.
Knockers began disastrously, losing both openers, Miller and Martin for one run. Tony Martin (17) and Neil Cowan (12) staged a brief rescue act but another collapse sent the score plummeting to 33-6. Ellison and Sims steadied the innings and Keith Miller (27) added quick runs to take the score to 98 all out.
Ightham also started badly but Braddon (26) and then Williams improved things, taking the score to halfway to the target. Ellison bowled well without much luck and then, the arrival of Mike Martin who disposed of the tail in four overs, sent the home side back for 71.
