Veteren, Ned Hutton, who has been amounst the runs for Holmsdale this season did Knockers a favour on Sunday with a timely, stylish innings of 89 against Marden.
Put in to bat on a grassu wicket, Knockers lost an early wicket when Ellison was bowled by Kennedy with the score on six.
Hutton then joined Keith Miller and the second wicket pair put on 135. Miller eventually went for a patient 64, Hutton for 89 and the home side declared at 162-5.
Marden accepted the challenge wholeheartedly, but good bowling by Paul Francis (3-30) and Nick Bailey had them struggling at 26-4. Manning (31) and Betts (29) struck the ball well but a tidy spell by Martin (3-27) cleaned up teh tail leaving Knockers with a 46 run victory with ten minutes to spare.
