The 2001 agm took place at the Bricklayers Arms Chipstead for only the second time in its history. The meal got under way at around 8.30pm and everyone enjoyed a 3 course meal and some wine to wash down the beer. At around 10pm the meeting finally got under way after some rearrangement of the tables to better facilitate a meeting.
Proceedings took place as follows:
Apologies were noted from those unable to make it and a toast was made to them and other absent friends. Our esteemed Secretary gave his version of the minutes from the previous year and these were deemed to be accurate and signed off as such. Paul Schofield was duly voted in as a new member and welcomed to the side. Treasurer, Steven Trounce gave the meeting the preious years accounts and made comments on them. In the absence of Andy Darry, Lynden Spencer-Allen gave an overview of the season and Keith Miller followed with the fixtures for the coming season as arranged so far. And then on to the election of the officers. These are detailed on the previous page with one exception and that was the voting in of Paul Styles as a Vice President of the club.
By now time was getting on and half way through the appointment of match managers the Chairman's taxi arrived causing the speeding up of proceedings. The discussed secret ballot for the annual awards was scrapped to be replaced by a hands up vote with the results that can be seen on the awards page. Only a brief discussion could be had as to the summer tour to Peterborough which mainly revolved around the availability of all those that had pledged it for the 2001 tour but never fulfilled that. It was decided that all tourists must pay a £30 deposit by the 1st March 2002 to Andy Darry. Corin Spencer-Allen gave a very brief few words about arranging some kit for the team and this looks likely to be a tour polo shirt and a Knockers T shirt costing around £15 for the pair. The Meeting was adjourned at just after Midnight to everyones pleasure.
